this and this are very interesting. wade has been talking about keeping things simple and clearing out some of the clutter. he redid the budget and was telling me how much we spent in the past few months and my first question was “what did we spend it on?”. the answer is less than i think. there is just all this stuff floating around us like that scene in “Brazil” when the paperstorm overtakes him and he is reduced to nothing. so much unecessary stuff that i think i need when the reality is i could probally use less trinkets and trash and more time and space.
“I want to figure out what happens to me when I no longer have all these items that supposedly define us,” Freyer said. “I also want to know what happens to the people who buy them. I’m going on a road trip to find out.”
