Saw another movie last night. A documentary. It was incredible - documenting the Winter 2001/2002 big-wave surfing season at Maverick’s, in Half Moon Bay. Mavericks is a relatively recently conquered big wave that has risen in stature to the elite of all big-wave spots, along with Waimea, Pipeline, and Todos Santos. The movie, 100 ft. Wednesday, was playing at the Red Vic in the Haight. There was a crazy-long line, but luckily we’d expected as much, and got there an hour before it started. Still, we were almost the last people to actually get tickets and get in to see it. It is playing in La Jolla later this month. Highly recommended viewing. Also, the soundtrack is dope.
Moula came with us. I snuck her in in my messenger bag. Once the lights dimmed, I let her out and she layed on my lap like a little angel for the whole movie. What a doll!
