Theories on Beauty:
I have a few thoughts on beauty.
There are several concepts of beauty that I use to understand it in my own mind. I think they apply to more than just faces or figures.
True Beauty: Not really 100% correct terminology, maybe enduring beauty would be better. I think that this applies to objects or subjects that retain their beautiful appearance over many years or decades.
The Beauty of Youth: Beauty that is apparent for a brief moment. Maybe something that is newly created or a summer of beauty. This has happened where I met someone, then saw them many months later and was bedazzled by their gorgeousness, and saw them months later beyond that and could not perceive the beauty that dazzled me only months before. This I think also applies to the blossoming that young people go through at a certain periods in their lives where they still have the dew on them.
On top of these ideas I have come up with two more.
The notion that one can conserve beauty/youth. An extreme example of that would be someone who is miserly with their beauty, that is someone who goes through extreme attempts to maintain, achieve, or goes to ridiculous lengths to prolong the periods of dewy youth.
The other idea having to do with those who have true or enduring beauty who squander it or even destroy it.
Maybe in the middle (the middle path) there are those who adjust themselves to their beauty (like ancient aquaducts) and let it settle around them, content to let let time pass and to make beauty from the passaga of time ala Roman aqueducts — the crumbling becomes part of the charm.
There is also, I suppose, the type of beauty that comes from within. I have found that beauty from within is rather rare. The people who although not convetionally beautiful have a spirit and force that wraps you up and leaves you breathless and mesmerized.
Sci-fi Question: What if the brain is actually an alien creature that developed the body for its comfort and life support?
Idea:
Have a Pervert Party — dress like a pervert or the object of a pervert’s fixation. This could be fun if everyone got involved (famous last words), but you might have to really dig into your subconscious on that one.
