Blog is the new rap. Not.
Some idiot at Slate thinks he’s being clever comparing bloggers to rappers. Example: ” Public Enemy’s Chuck D once said that rap music was the black CNN. After busting a cap in Eason Jordan’s ass, what are bloggers now if not the white CNN? ” Gee, they are the same! Reminds me of bible thumpers who find a quote - the only quote? - in the good book that supports their viewpoint, then use it as ammo to villify anyone who might disagree. You lose credibility when your argument that Bloggers are like rap stars because:
[B]oth groups share a love of loose-fitting, pajama-style apparel. Still not
satisfied? Bloggers and rappers are equally obsessed with social networking.
Every rapper rolls with his entourage; every blogger rolls with
his blog roll.
Maybe the Levin was trying to be funny. Maybe his editors forced him ‘find an angle’. Whatever the reason, there is no excuse for his drivel.

so instead of saying something intelligent he says something inane that will be endlessly (till March) repeated by other airheads. so not.

Man, are you ever humorless! Yes, the pajamas comments and all that are meant to be jokes. However, there are also some real points in there too: both bloggers are rappers sample other people’s work and add their own commentary, both are relatively democratic media, both are self-obsessed, and both like to take down authority figures when they can. Duh. Where’s your reading comprehension? And what the hell are you so mad about?
