Ad-vice on Living Well Within Your Means

with my mony on my mind and my mind on my money

This article by Jane Gault has some simple, no-nonsense advice on negotiating the treacherous waters of fiscal responsibility. This list is free of the torrent of words in which many financial advisors hide their best advice. This started an interesting dialogue between Wade & I and I thought, Rick, that with your new found flushness these might be some good things to think about now. BTW, congratulations on the new title and responsibilities, Mr. Vice-President!

yep, excellent advise. as i have yet to earn a paycheck - and won’t for a few weeks - a lot of this goes into the ‘plan’ box instead of the ‘do’ box for the moment.

This is a great article about trends nationwide. It’s not just you and me and ours… the whole nation is caught in the grip of debt, overspending, and lack of savings. It has a lot to do with stagnant wages for the middle class (among other factors) and of course our general cultural imperative of consume consume consume consume. It is frightening to stop and really think about how these things might play out in the years to come as a society with a collective 0% savings rate, collapsing pension funds, and whatnot. So that means I really do got to save.

    thanks, xis.
