An Ode to Black Tea (& Love)
Nov
15
Black tea buoys me
It lifts me through my day
It makes me feel like a hummingbird
Sucking sweet nectar from a bright red flower
Alive and swimming on the rich crest of life.
When my husband makes me a cup of his special brew
And hands it to me,
It’s like he has handed me a rare and prized gift that
I will treasure my whole life through.
A perfect steaming mug of balanced flavors
- silky soy creamer, smooth sweet agave & dark bitter leaves -
Brought to life by hot water and time and love.
O, Husband, please do not give me diamonds and furs,
Just bring me each morning
Til the end of my days
A lovingly prepared cup of tea.

Wade Says:
You have filled a moment in our lives with sweet appreciation and I can’t tell you how warm I feel inside when I read your beautiful thoughts.
I’m so glad you are writing about your life (ours). Your soul is beginning to pour out of you and the world will be all the more wondrous for it. Thank you puchimama!
A poem for the ages!
