I miss you less and less every day*
Tuesday night we ended up at the Casbah to see ‘Margot & the Nuclear So-and-sos‘. ‘Twas a good show. Sometimes the acoustics there do not a good show make. We have seen at least 20 shows there in the last decade, some memorable, most middling and some horrible. This one was a pretty good show. It wasn’t too crowded. The sound was good. Loud but not too loud — my ears only rang for about 20 minutes after the show. MNSS is a weird band. There were 8 people on stage (I don’t know which one is Margot?!?!), yet their sound is not too complicated or orchestrated. Wade discovered them on InSound with a free download. I think maybe the song I quoted here in the title. We get loads of new music each month. Most of the music of CasaWeX is curated and refined by Wade. I am not into music as much as Wade is so much of this music washes over me like the gentle trickle of a creek. If I know it and like it, I can recognize it, but if it is not to my liking I cannot tell you much about it. When I first heard MNSS I paused in my keyboard clacking and clicked over to the playlist to see who was playing. Then I googled info on the band and read lyrics and a bit of the band website, which overall is too grandiloquent but not off-putting. They played a great show. I find that their music captures adolescent angst and distills it in a form still palatable to me.
For this I love them.
