Are you a Cougar? and, Coke is the new Chronic.

Couple of things I learned recently:

Cougar: the term to describe those of a certain age who prey on the younger set. Heard the term for the first time when I was out at the Union Street fair a couple weekends ago. Apparently everyone else knows this term already. I have confirmed that this is part of the zeitgeist, as I heard the term again while watching Oceans 13 this weekend.

Coke is the new Weed: Really. This is a direct quote from an article in today’s New York Times. Apparently the re-emergence of coke can be blamed on the younger generations lack of memory, or something. Really? Please. I attribute it to the lack of demonizing propaganda. Tangentially, I recently screened the documentary ‘Cocaine Cowboys’ which I ‘highly’ recommend.

Cougar applies only to women. I would like to prey on younger men but then I feel like such a chickenhawk when I do.

I was a bit confused about that. I didn’t say that specifically in my post because I did hear at least one young lady refer to the cougars, which I took to mean her older male pursuers. Regardless, I stand corrected.
